On Sunday I visited Clive Peeters at Malvern and spent a pleasant couple of hours browsing the amazing range of stoves, ovens, stovetops, sinks and rangehoods they have on display. Some of the items (especially Gaggenau) are so expensive that I felt a little uncomfortable browsing in such exalted products.
While I was there I filmed a demo of a De Deitrich induction stovetop to show how quickly it can bring cold water to the boil, while the only heat on the stovetop is from the bottom of the hot pan.
It debunks the old adage that a watched pot never boils.
